How To Add Markdown Text

The Markdown text widget is plain text editor which allows text to be added to an AppLess page to provide information such as opening hours special instructions, customer notices, disclaimers or any text you would like guests to see. Markdown text does not allow any linking to other areas of an AppLess site and is solely used to display information. The following image shows Markdown text used to display opening times.




How To Add Markdown Text


1. Login to Crave CMS using your unique credentials

2. Navigate to Application Configuration on the main CMS navigation menu



3. Select the AppLess Page you would like to add Markdown text.

  • From the Application Configuration, click the PAGES tab.
  • Select the relevant page from the list by double-clicking it.



4. Add the Markdown Text Widget to the Page

  • To add new markdown text, click the green plus button on the right side of the widget banner.
  • Within the FRIENDLY NAME field, enter a name which will allow you to easily identify the purpose of this widget.
  • From the TYPE dropdown, select Markdown.
  • Press the SAVE icon.



5. Edit The Markdown Text

  • Now that the markdown widget has been created, its contents will need to be edited. Click on the pencil and paper icon at the end of its row to start this.
  • The contents of the TEXT field is what shall be displayed on your AppLess site. Enter your desired message here.
  • To make text appear in bold, add two asterisks at the beginning and end of the sentence. To make text appear in Italics, add a single asterisk at the beginning and end of the sentence. The field to the right of the text field will provide a preview of the text as it will appear on your site.
  • When finished, press the SAVE button and check your site to ensure the text is formatted correctly.
